To honor Black History Month, there are several events around the DFW metroplex. Here are a few you can participate in this week through early March.

  • African-American Heritage Month Exhibit at Tarrant County College - Southeast Campus
    • The Southeast Campus displays a visual timeline of the life of Martin Luther King Jr., along with a visual display of African-American pioneers from the art community. Free to attend and open until February 28th. Learn more here.
  • Black History Month Festival at Arlington Public Library - Southeast Branch
    • Celebrate African-American history and culture in a variety of ways featuring exhibits, music and dance performances, lectures, photos, crafts, and more. Happening Sunday, February 26th at 2pm. Free to attend. Learn more here.
  • A Place for All People: Introducing the National Museum of African American History and Culture at the Irving Arts Center
    • Produced in collaboration with the National Museum of African American History and Culture, this new poster exhibition explores African American history, culture, and community. Open through March 26, 2017 and free to attend. Learn more here
