Board | Women's Business Council Southwest

The Board of Directors is composed of Corporate and WBE members of the WBCS. As the governing body of the WBCS, board members function within the parameters of the organizational bylaws. Their responsibilities are to:

Fully promote the organization’s mission
Participate in the development of operational policies and standards
Attend bi-monthly board meetings
Contribute financially
Attend major events
Support WBCS programs
Serve on at least one committee of the WBCS.

Members are elected to three-year terms.

An annual Call for Nominations is issued to the membership in July and all nominees are considered by the Nominating Committee who develop the slate to be voted on by the full membership via e-mail ballot in October.

As a member in good standing of the WBCS, you may self-nominate or submit the name of another WBCS Corporate (Sustaining) or WBE member. All nominations must include a completed Board of Directors Application Form.

The Board of Directors has several very active committees through which Council business is conducted. The committee structure is a valuable means of participation in the Council and preparation for board service.
