On September 5th, 300+ attendees will come together for the annual Harvesting Partnerships half-day conference focused on top-tier educational programming. Last year we introduced WBE led roundtables as a new feature. The feedback received was overwhelmingly positive and we are excited to say they will be making a return at this year’s event. 19 women business owners will be leading small group discussions about a variety of topics, and attendees will be able to rotate between four 20-minute sessions.

This year’s themes include Human and Digital Workforce Transformation, Human Resources, Innovation, Leadership, Legal, Marketing, and Wellness. You can visit our registration page for a complete list.

Anderson Asphalt & Concrete Paving, LLC is our 2019 WBE Roundtable Sponsor, and their President, Pam Thomas, gave us her insight on why this is a valuable feature for all attendees. “I’m excited that these ladies will be sharing their experiences with other WBEs; it encourages me as a WBE myself. I’ve looked to other women business owners for their expertise and ideals, which has led to more success in my business.” said Pam. “The roundtable sessions give business owners the chance to learn about areas of business they may not normally have access to education for.” Anderson Asphalt & Concrete Paving, LLC has been a certified WBE since 2009, and as long-term and frequent WBCS event attendee she gives some advice for those attending Harvesting Partnerships. “Come early and stay until the end,” said Pam. “The few minutes before the main rush of people arrive are one of the best times to meet and network with other WBEs one-on-one.  There is definitely a culture among WBEs of helping each other, and the connections I’ve made at events have led to referrals that turned into contracts.”

She also suggests looking at the list of roundtables beforehand, and arriving with a plan of which ones you are interested in. She said two that she’ll be looking for this year are Leadership and Negotiation Strategies for Women, and Legal Documents that Prevent Disruption.

Join us on September 5th at the Courtyard Marriot Grapevine for this day of education and meaningful connections. There will also be a keynote luncheon with Michael Sorrell, President of Paul Quinn College who was recently named one of Fortune Magazine’s World’s 50 Greatest Leaders, the Lillie Knox Investment Award presentation, a Kendra Scott pop-up shop, and plenty more.  Click here for more information and to register.
