Our community partner WiNGS is hosting a tour of their facilities on September 18th for WBCS members interested in volunteer opportunities.

The Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas and the Veteran Women’s Enterprise Center (VWEC), a national initiative located in southern Dallas, are currently conducting research on the “Moments That Matter” for businesses owned by veteran women in the DFW Metroplex. With a focus on identifying the most defining issues these businesses encounter, the primary goals of the project are to: Determine whether the business development experiences of the Metroplex’s women, veteran entrepreneurs are comparable to those of women, veteran entrepreneurs nationally. Bank of America and Communities Foundation of Texas are pleased to announce the 2019 cycle of the Small & Diverse Business Education Fund Scholarship sponsored by Bank of America and funded through the generosity of Bank of America’s vendors. This cycle, which launches August 5, will award 50 scholarships of up to $10,000 each to business owners of qualified certified small and diverse businesses for targeted training and development to enhance their business.

The U.S. Small Business Administration is creating Ascent, an online learning platform that utilizes a modern, e-learning approach specifically targeted for women business owners who want to grow their businesses.

As part of the 2019 Toyota Mentorship program, WBEs recently visited the Toyota facility in San Antonio for an up-close look at Toyota's history, manufacturing process, and use of their Just-in-Time supply chain strategy.

S.H.E. Summit features keynotes and panel discussions with men and women representing corporations across industries, including media, technology, finance, law, consumer goods, and more. The program celebrates leaders and influences who have brought effective change in the workplace and improved diversity in corporate America.

Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses is a program for small businesses that links learning to action. Through the program, participants will gain practical skills in topics such as negotiation, marketing and employee management that can immediately be put into action.

The Dallas Office of JE Dunn Construction is currently accepting applications for the 2019 MCD Program Cohort. This free program is open to MBE/WBE companies specializing in construction related trades.

Dallas County recently launched a new electronic vendor registration system allowing vendors to register online with Dallas County and simultaneously become notified of contracting opportunities.
